Mediator and Director
Alan Dillon
Alan is a director of Mediation Rescue and an accredited Workplace, Community and Civil & Commercial Mediator. His professional background includes HR and setting up and growing recruitment businesses.

Professional background
Alan helped establish Mediation Rescue in 2016. His background in HR and recruitment provides organisational and business context for his mediation work.
Mediation practice
Alan works within Mediation Rescue’s Workplace and Commercial Mediation practice. He is accredited in workplace, community and civil and commercial mediation and has extensive experience of co-mediating complex disputes.
Working in a co-mediation team
Alan is one of the directors who can form part of a carefully composed mediation team. Two mediators contribute different experience and perspectives, supporting a process chosen around the conflict and the participants.
Sector experience
Alan’s mediation experience spans public services and public bodies, including education, rail and infrastructure, custodial services and environmental organisations, alongside housing associations. His commercial background includes construction and recruitment. This breadth gives him an understanding of the different pressures facing senior leaders, people professionals and frontline staff.
Recent mediation and reintegration work
A recent housing association assignment involved a comprehensive Workplace Mediation and reintegration programme, incorporating multiple individual pre-meetings and joint mediations, team facilitation, reintegration consultation and management outcome reporting. The programme addressed both the immediate disputes and the wider working relationships needed to support reintegration. Management reporting supports agreed next steps while respecting mediation confidentiality.
